FAQ

Common questions

Do you take direct client referrals? +
No. All clients must have an established primary therapist. Every case that comes through The Alchemist's Lab is a referral from that therapist. This is clinician-to-clinician work.
Does my client need to come see you separately? +
Not usually. Most cases are resolved through work with you — the referring clinician — without any direct contact with your client. If the case needs it, I may join one of your existing sessions as a consulting specialist. Your client never has to establish a relationship with a new clinician.
Does my client pay anything? +
No. The entire Complex Clarity fee is paid by the referring clinician. There is no separate charge to your client at any point in the process. This was an intentional design decision — the therapist pays to support their client, and the client stays in their established therapeutic relationship.
How do you decide which path a case takes? +
I read the referral inquiry and determine what the case needs from there. Some cases are clear enough for a consult and Clarity Map. Some need a full intake and assessment process. A small number require me to join a session directly. You don't need to know which one — that's the point of the inquiry.
What's the difference between Lab Access and Complex Clarity? +
Lab Access is ongoing — group consults, 1:1 sessions in bundles, and regular access for any case or clinical question. Complex Clarity is a structured short-term process for one specific case that genuinely won't move. Many clinicians use Lab Access for ongoing support and Complex Clarity when a case needs the full process. A 1:1 Lab Access session can also be a first step — and the $150 session fee is credited toward Complex Clarity if the case escalates.
What is a Clarity Map? +
A Clarity Map is a written document delivered after every 1:1 consultation session. It captures the frameworks discussed, patterns identified, specific rule-outs to consider, and concrete next steps to try with your client. It's not just notes — it's something you can take back into the room and work from.
Will you retain my client after the case closes? +
No. The Alchemist's Lab does not retain clients. When the case closes, your client returns to you — with a written Clarity Map, a clinical report if the case required it, and clarity about what's actually happening. We unstick. We clarify. We send them back.
What if I'm not sure which service I need? +
Start anywhere. A workshop or group consult is the lowest-pressure entry point — no case commitment, no intake. If a case feels stuck, a single 1:1 session is a good next step. If the case needs the full Complex Clarity process, I'll tell you after reading the referral inquiry. You don't need to know what you need before you reach out.
Do you provide diagnoses? +
What I provide is diagnostic impressions and clinical formulation — not a formal psychological assessment that confers a diagnosis. The Clarity Map or clinical report includes pattern analysis, framework application, and treatment direction. Formal diagnosis determination is made in coordination with appropriate licensed professionals.
